(Juvenile)  measuring 1-2 inches (2.5-5 cm) in length.

Tropheus Ikola is a striking cichlid from Lake Tanganyika, known for its vivid colors and lively behavior. Tropheus Ikola thrives in groups, which helps reduce aggression and supports natural social behaviors. To ensure their well-being and quality of life, it's recommended to purchase 5-7 individuals at a time. This group size helps establish a balanced social hierarchy and provides the social structure these cichlids need to thrive.

  • Living Environment: Mimic their natural habitat with a rocky aquarium setup, providing plenty of hiding spots and caves. A strong filtration system is crucial for maintaining water quality.
  • Diet: Feed high-quality cichlid pellets designed for herbivores, supplemented with spirulina flakes, algae wafers, and occasional vegetables.
  • Water Parameters: Maintain a temperature of 76-80°F (24-27°C), a pH of 7.8-9.0, and a hardness of 10-20 dGH. Regular water changes (20-30% weekly) are essential.
  • Care: Use a tank of at least 75 gallons for a small group to accommodate their territorial nature. Monitor for signs of stress or disease and provide a varied diet to ensure their health.
